This course is designed to give the serious missions student a look at the call to foreign missions, while imparting information as to where the greatest needs are in today’s world. Practical instruction will be offered regarding fundraising, creating newsletters, and adjusting to culture shock in family relationships and in spiritual life. Other topics include financial management, health care, attitudes toward the sending agency and pastoral care.
A study of Scripture related to the purposes, nature, scope and challenge of world missions. This course includes how to plant an indigenous church using different methods, such as evangelistic meetings, outdoor crusades, church growth, cell church, servant evangelism, and how to reach the unreached, with an emphasis on Muslims.
A comprehensive introduction to medical care, especially useful for those called to the mission field. Students will be equipped with methods and skills used by medical professionals. Other areas of study will include instruction on how to change the long-term health of a people group by the power of the Holy Spirit and how to use health promotion and disease prevention as tools for evangelism.
This program will equip the student to teach English to speakers of other languages, both to overseas nationals and to internationals in the US. As a door-opener to missions ministry, this program also awards a TESOL Certificate upon completion. (Note: Certification requires completion of PM209—Cross-Cultural Communication).
